Alpha Colony will be rewarding 1 CP to anyone who staffs of attends the Alpha Colony Module.

ATTENTION ALL MERCENARY TEAMS!

A highly skilled, professional unit is required to participate in a snatch and grab mission on one of the Galaxy's primary systems. The client, who wishes to remain nameless at this time, is a large organization with considerable resources, but is one which cannot be connected with this mission in any way. However, said client will provide transportation and a full briefing for you and your team the day of the mission. Light to medium resistence is likely, and the location may be wired or otherwise trapped as well.

The following personel are needed for the mission: One Net-runner, One Agent, One Medtech, between Two and Four Troopers or Warriors. In addition, the client would highly recommend that an Esper be part of the group, but as they are rather scarce in the Galaxy at large, the presence of one is not mandatory.

You and your team will be well-rewarded for participating in this mission, and successfully completing it may lead to future business opportunities in the future from the client. To volunteer your services, contact trueblueenterprises@gmail.com via the Hypernet.

Game Infomation

The end began as many had predicted. With A.I. …….

Created by mankind Artificial Intelligence attacked its creators launching the most devastating war in the history of Man.

The collective mindset of the A.I. saw the need to strike a fierce, fast, and devastating blow to mankind. And with that the home world that united all humanity was destroyed. Earth was no more, the cataclysmic destruction of the entire planet sending the message to the Galactic League that the A.I. would stop at nothing in its ruthless efforts to wipe the human plague from the universe.

Finally, the last desperate measures were taken. Each of the worlds of the League detonated a highly experimental Zeta bomb in their systems, the weapons designed to act almost like a massive EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) weapon, with the end result of annihilating all technology. The rippling energy wave of each bomb spread outwards through each solar system, destroying the A.I. and mankind’s own technologies as one. Thousands of people sacrificed themselves as they flew escort missions to protect the Zeta bomb-carrying vessels from the A.I.’s efforts to intercept the doomsday devices. Millions more perished in the immediate after-effects of the bomb’s destructive wave. While the energy wave itself did not kill, or, it was believed, cause any undue effects to those exposed to it, the resulting breakdown of societies, the sudden lack of adequate medical facilities, and the lost food harvesting equipment spelled disaster for nearly all of the worlds of the League. But, the A.I. was stopped.

In order to save itself, most of mankind had bombed itself back to the Stone Age….

In an age where all work was done by machines mankind had to re-learn everything. The last written word had been published in 2035. All knowledge after that was stored electronically, and was lost after Zeta.

In 1000 AZ (After Zeta) the missing Space Force fleet returned. Having been sabotaged by the A.I., they had been forced into a slipstream in the center of Hyperspace and yet managed to survive in stasis. The battle armada had been flung to the far reaches of the universe. To them, the journey home had taken nearly one hundred years.

They returned to discover that the surviving former member planets of the Galactic League had all progressed differently. Some had the technology of medieval Europe, while others were capable of rudimentary space flight. The remains of the Galactic Knights had fallen to an evil within their own ranks and had conquered several worlds under the banner of their new name, the Protectorate. Meanwhile, the vagabond survivors of earth drifted from system to system, viewed by most as space trash.

Mankind was teetering on the cliff of extinction once more. But, with great risk comes great opportunity, for those bold enough to take it. The Space Force’s return was viewed with great joy and celebration by all, and its leaders were quick to see how their return could affect the galactic balance of power. Thus the Space Force began the reunification project, an effort than spanned nearly another century. Soon most of the surviving members of the former Galactic League were formed into the new United Systems Alliance. The US Council was backed by the advanced might of the Space Force, and it imposed certain rules and traditions designed, according to rhetoric, to advance mankind back to its former glory. The Space Force has been estimated to be roughly 400 years ahead of any other individual planet or country in terms of AZ technological advancements, and it guards that superiority with a fierce determination. The spread of technology back into the members of the US Alliance is very carefully controlled, and restricted, by the Space Force.

About a year ago, the Space Force announced that it had found the missing colony of Avalon II, located in an area of space known as the Mine Field due to the large amount of space anomalies there. Discovered just before the AI War had broken out, Avalon II had started to be considered a myth by many of the survivors of the Intelligence War and their descendants, and many believed it to be the mysterious “Ghost World” of urban legend and spooky childhood tales. Despite some unique and, some would say, challenging, features, Avalon II appeared to be everything mankind currently needed, a resource-rich world that was habitable by humans without the need for terraforming.

Exploring the planet is somewhat difficult due to something called Avalon Mist. The mist blankets the planet’s sky and is very thick in most areas. The mist emits a form of radiation that, while not harmful to life, does drain energy from sources that are not heavily shielded. It also wreaks havoc on sensors, preventing deep scanning of the planet, and makes the operation of some forms of weaponry, communications devices, and technologies difficult or impossible.

The Space Force mission announced that it appeared that the original colonists had died out over the intervening thousand years since Zeta, but plans were quickly set into motion to begin new colonization efforts. However, the tensions between the galaxy’s two primary powers had risen over Avalon II, since both had laid claim to it. The Protectorate claimed it had rediscovered Avalon II a full six months before the Space Force did. In addition, several smaller bodies of power also threw their hats into the claim ring.

After much debate, a treaty was hammered out that several joint colonies would be formed. Those countries that supplied the colonies would be entitled to a tithe. Volunteers would have to live in the colonies for 10 years before being granted land. Until then they would have to pay the tithe for transportation and supplies. The Galactic Laws established by the US Council would apply to the colonies, and would be enforced by the Space Force who would send supply ships several times a year.

The first colony, Alpha, was settled and reported back with great success. Now, a second wave of volunteers is being recruited to be sent out to Alpha Colony, with the launch date coming soon…
